Preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Haiti through traditional folk dances and rhythms. TEDCO is specialized in Haitian, Afro-Haitian and Caribbean folk dances and traditional music. AUDITION OPPORTUNITY
We are currently looking for dancers, drummers and a saxophonist for our 2008 annual upcoming production. All levels and background needed. No experience necessary, we will train the perfect candidate with the enthusiast to learn. Knowledge in Afro-Caribbean, Dunham Technique, African dances and drumming a plus. Tamboula Ethnic Dance Corp is an Illinois not-for-profit and a registered 501(c)3 organization, your gift to the company is tax deductible. TEDCO’s mission has remained focused on two main objectives; preserve and promote Haitian dance heritage, and establish cultural exchanges among all ethnic groups, through education and the celebration of Haiti’s culture.  Your contribution provides the funding needed to finance operating costs and will assist in our efforts to continue our focus and expand as we look forward to the following initiatives in 2008:              
  • Annual concert
  • Dance classes on the north and south side of Chicago
  • Develop a youth dance component
  • Develop a cultural and historical education curriculum about Haiti
